Oceanside, CA — This last week was a very busy one for our campaign. We were able to get our initial announcement for Mayor printed in several prominent San Diego County newspapers. Thank you to our supporters for making noise about the campaign and helping to get us noticed! You can read those articles here:
We are continuing our push to provide safer and reliable transportation for children getting to school all over Oceanside. The bus cuts all over the county have dramatically impacted school safety and welfare. I have already met with several school board members in Oceanside and Vista to discuss the problems and potential solutions, but we need your continued activism to make #MajorChange.
September 15, 2019 to October 15, 2019 marks National Hispanic Heritage Month. As a Latino & grandson of a Yaqui/descendants of Aztecs, I was proud to be a part of this celebratory effort.
National Voter Registration Day Approaches
Finally and in advance of National Voter Registration Day on September 26, we did our first campaign canvass and it went great! We were able to get into contact with may voters and getting them ready for the upcoming elections next year!
In addition to door knocking and phone calling voters, this weekend, we spoke with community members at Pacific Ridge at Rancho Del Oro about solutions to the homeless crisis and what we can do to reduce housing costs citywide. We are making progress every day!
