On this important day, we thank those of you who work so hard to keep our community going.
For almost 20 years, I’ve been certified as a an EMT/Paramedic. As an EMT, I often worked 100+ hours a week at minimum wage, just to make ends meet. Anyone who works a full-time job should be able make a living wage.
Last month, I had the privilege to join UFCW Local 135 in front of our local supermarkets in support of their contract negotiations to provide grocery store workers with better wages.
I understand what it’s like to work really hard for very little and that’s why I’m proud to fight for workers’ rights. Let’s reflect on this and continue working together to support our local unions and laborers.
